Good morning and happy Friday!

Here are three recommendations we've prepared for today:

The World's 50 Best Restaurants

The Barcelona restaurant Disfrutar has just been chosen as the best in the world in the "The World's 50 Best Restaurants" list, announced this past Wednesday in Las Vegas, USA.

Disfrutar, which opened in December 2014 nearly a decade ago, is run by three Catalan chefs, Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch, and Mateu Casañas, who previously worked together at elBulli. The restaurant first entered this prestigious list in 2018 (ranking 19th) and has since climbed up to become number 1 in 2024.

The second spot on the list is taken by another Spanish restaurant, Asador Etxebarri, located in Atxondo, while the Madrid restaurant Diverxo, run by Dabiz Muñoz, is in fourth position.

This video presents the list of the world's 50 best restaurants for 2024:

WMO Global Annual to Decadal Climate Update

The Global Annual to Decadal Climate Update is issued annually by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). It provides a synthesis of the global annual to decadal predictions produced by the WMO-designated Global Producing Centres and other contributing centres for 2024-2028.

According to the latest report, there is an 80 percent likelihood that the annual average global temperature will temporarily exceed 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels for at least one of the next five years.

The global mean near-surface temperature for each year between 2024 and 2028 is predicted to be between 1.1°C and 1.9°C higher than the 1850-1900 baseline.

This report underscores the urgency of climate action. It serves as a critical reminder of the need to accelerate efforts to mitigate climate change and adapt to its impacts.
