Unsplash: millions of free images for creators and websites

“Beautiful, free images gifted by the world's most generous community of photographers. Better than any royalty free or stock photos.”

That's how Unsplash presents itself, an impressive and highly valuable resource for creators and websites. Boasting a library of millions of images, Unsplash allows anyone to utilize these stunning visuals for free (with attribution appreciated by Unsplash).

Over 360,000 photographers – professionals and hobbyists alike – along with graphic designers, contribute their images to Unsplash, making them available to fellow creators. Signing up for the service is open to everyone, enabling anyone to share their work.

Unsplash+

For those seeking even more options, Unsplash+ has been available for over a year now. This premium subscription service offers exclusive, additional images that only subscribers can access. Recently, Unsplash+ also introduced an illustrations service. With a subscription, users enjoy unlimited image usage at a cost of just 72 euros per year (yearly payment) or 13 euros per month (monthly payment). These prices are valid as of May 2024.

Wordle is one of the most successful online games on the internet. Created and launched by Josh Wardle in October 2021, it quickly became a hit, catching the attention of The New York Times' Games team, who acquired it in early 2022.

Millions of people are users of this word game where players have six turns to guess a five-letter word. Every day, at midnight, a new word is presented for guessing, and registered users on the NYT website can track their statistics

The “Orwell Daily” Newsletter

The Orwell Foundation is dedicated to promoting the work and values of the writer and journalist George Orwell (1903-1950), author of novels such as 1984, Animal Farm, Homage to Catalonia, and Burmese Days, among others.

To make his work known to as wide an audience as possible, one of the initiatives launched by the foundation is "Orwell Daily", a daily newsletter that offers subscribers a free article written by George Orwell on that same date.

The author made numerous contributions as a journalist, critic, or essayist in different publications.
