The BBC has released a spectacular one-minute animated video titled “Welcome to the City of Love” to showcase its coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

You can watch it here:

This beautiful piece was created by the BBC Creative team in collaboration with Nexus Studios. The 60-second animation features 58 shots and 36 athletes, forming “an artistic and intense choreography” in a “dynamic and moving tribute to sporting passion,” as described by the Nexus Studios team.

538 by ABC News: Analysis of electoral polls

538 is a website currently owned by the ABC News network, specializing in the analysis of opinion polls with a particular focus on political issues. It is one of the platforms to follow for the latest polling updates on the upcoming U.S. presidential elections on November 5, 2024.

The project, known for years as FiveThirtyEight, was founded in 2008 by author and statistics expert Nate Silver. For a time, it was part of The New York Times. However, Silver left in April 2023, and the original domain, fivethirtyeight.com, was shut down months later, redirecting traffic to the ABC News website. The name and logo were also changed to the current 538.

Nate Silver then decided to launch his own newsletter, Silver Bulletin, where he continues to provide analyses on politics and elections and writes about media, sports, poker, and other topics of particular interest to him.
