Spectacular 3D and AI-powered immersive recreation of St. Peter's Basilica
The Vatican, Microsoft, and Iconem have launched a spectacular project allowing visitors to explore a highly detailed 3D recreation of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, assisted by artificial intelligence.
The project offers a digital twin of St. Peter's Basilica, created from thousands of images using advanced photogrammetry and AI techniques. This enables anyone, from anywhere in the world, to discover all the details of this monument.
Here is a video presenting the project:
In addition to the virtual exploration of the Basilica, the project also provides information on the history of its construction and St. Peter. Technical details of this initiative are also available.

Bluesky positions itself as an alternative social network to X
The British newspaper The Guardian and the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia have announced they are stopping posting on the social network X due to disagreements with owner Elon Musk. They believe the former Twitter has become toxic and promotes disinformation.
Musk's role in Donald Trump's campaign and the new U.S. administration are accelerating X's abandonment by users.
One of the alternative networks to X that has seen significant growth in recent days is Bluesky, which has seen one million new users sign up to the platform in just a few days.
Bluesky is a microblogging social network with similarities to X, such as limiting posts to 300 characters, allowing users to follow others, and giving "likes" or sharing others' posts. Bluesky originated as a project within Twitter in 2019, but became an independent company in 2021.
An alternative, Bluesky, has seen 1 million new users in days. Bluesky is a microblogging network similar to X, but decentralized and using the AT Protocol for user data control. It allows feed customization.
Bluesky opened free, unrestricted access in February 2024 and announced 13 million users on October 24. Yesterday, it crossed the 15 million user mark.

Fortune publishes its first list of the 100 most powerful people in the business world
The American business magazine Fortune has just published the first edition of a new list dedicated to the 100 most powerful people in the business world.
The list includes leaders from 40 different industries and age groups who have one thing in common: "their words, actions, and wealth shape what those around them think and do."
The ranking is headed by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, founder and CEO of SpaceX, and owner of the social network X. In second place is Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, and third is Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft. The image shows the names of the top ten people on the Fortune list.
To establish this ranking of power in the business world, the editors of Fortune have taken the following elements into account for each person analyzed:
· Size of the managed business · Health of that business · Innovation · Influence · Trajectory · Impact
