More than 4.6 million people have already enrolled in one of the most successful online courses in history: "The Science of Well-Being."

This course is led by Laurie Santos, a professor and scientist at Yale University, titled "The Science of Well-Being." The course is available on the educational platform Coursera and is originally in English, with automatic translation into other languages.

Originally titled "Psyc 157, Psychology and the Good Life," the course made history in January 2018 when nearly a quarter of Yale's university students enrolled, setting a record for the university. The class on happiness also gained global media attention, leading Professor Santos to create a free online edition on Coursera. Years later, it continues to attract thousands of students worldwide and has become one of the most popular courses on the internet.

There is also a version of the course specifically designed for teenagers: "The Science of Well-Being for Teens."

The website already features over 1,700 interviews and 8,000 book recommendations (data as of January 2024). At least two new interviews are published every week.

Five Books also provides a newsletter sent out twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, featuring book recommendations.
