Hi!

Happy Friday from the editors at 'On the Net Today' – your go-to newsletter for maximizing your internet experience! Three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) we curate a selection of three valuable resources to enhance your browsing time.

Here are three recommendations we've prepared for today:

Photo Ark: Joel Sartore captures thousands of Animal Species

Photo Ark is a major photographic project by photographer and lecturer Joel Sartore, aiming to photograph and document as many animal species as possible before they disappear.

The project, which began in 2005, is supported editorially and financially by National Geographic, along with contributions from Sartore himself and donors from around the world.

Currently, more than 15,000 species have been photographed for Photo Ark. A search tool allows users to locate all of these among the more than 53,000 images—photographs and videos—already published.

All the images are taken as portraits. Sartore explains that there are about 25,000 animal species under human care worldwide (in zoos, aquariums, and wildlife sanctuaries), and his goal is to photograph them all.

In addition to the website, Photo Ark is featured in several books.
