Kantar presents the 2025 BrandZ ranking of the world's most valuable brands, led by Apple
The international marketing data and analytics company Kantar has just presented the 20th edition of BrandZ Most Valuable Global Brands, the ranking of the world's most valuable brands.
For the fourth consecutive year, Apple maintains its first position, with a value of $1.3 trillion, 28% more than the previous year. It is the only brand in the ranking that exceeds one trillion dollars in value and, by itself, represents more than 12% of the total value of the Global Top 100.
Google occupies second place, with a brand value of $944.137 million, while Microsoft is third with $884.816 million. Amazon's brand value, fourth in the global ranking, has surged by 50% this year, reaching $866 billion, "thanks to its strong positioning around convenience and affordability, which has allowed it to grow in a challenging economy," according to the report's authors.
One of the brands that has strongly entered the BrandZ ranking this year is ChatGPT, OpenAI's generative AI tool, which debuts at number 60. It is the highest entry since Nvidia's in 2021.
Kantar's ranking has reached a total brand value of $10.7 trillion, representing a 29% increase compared to the previous year. "This growth is driven by disruptive technology-based brands, which, in fact, have contributed most of the value growth over the past 20 years across all sectors," the company explained.
The clothing brand ZARA, from the Inditex group, is the only Spanish brand that appears in the ranking, specifically at number 65, five positions higher than in the previous edition.
The ranking of the world's most valuable brands, which Kantar has been compiling since 2006, is based on consumer perception and the financial performance of the brands.
Even greater has been the growth of Instagram (+101%), while another social network, TikTok, has grown by 25%. "This reflects the continued influence of social media on consumer habits and in generating direct sales through e-commerce for brands and influencers worldwide," the report says.
Some of the highlights are:
Nvidia, Huawei, VMware, Xiaomi and Instagram are the top risers, achieving more than 100% brand value growth.
ChatGPT is the highest new entry in the Top 100, followed by Stripe and Chipotle
Outside the US, Sweden’s Spotify re-enters the Top 100; India’s Airtel is the fastest growing telecom brand in the world; Argentinian retailer Mercado Libre is the only Latin American brand in the top.
U.S. brands currently represent 82% of the total value of the top 100 brands, compared to 63% in 2006.

May 18, International Museum Day
This Sunday, May 18, 2025, marks International Museum Day, a worldwide event coordinated by the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
ICOM is a non-governmental organization "that establishes professional and ethical standards for museum activities" around the world. In fact, a total of 57,208 museums from 129 countries and territories are members of this organization. ICOM is also "the voice of museum professionals at the international level and promotes public cultural awareness through global networks and cooperation programs."
"The future of museums in constantly changing communities" is the theme of this year's International Museum Day, an event that began in 1977. The objective of this day is to raise awareness about the fact that "museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures, and development of mutual understanding, cooperation, and peace among communities."
As such, thousands of museums worldwide have scheduled special activities for one day, the weekend, or the entire week. So it's an excellent opportunity to check what our favorite museums are offering and enjoy them. The International Museum Day website provides an interactive map showing many of the activities scheduled around the world.
