OpenAI releases ChatGPT-4o, an enhanced version of ChatGPT

OpenAI, the leading artificial intelligence research company, launched the free generative AI tool ChatGPT-4o this past Monday. It is an upgrade to ChatGPT, capable of interacting with images, video, and audio in addition to text.

The presentation of ChatGPT-4o was held through a video showcasing the new tool in action.

In addition to its ability to interact through text, voice, and vision (photos and videos), ChatGPT-4o offers other significant improvements such as reduced latency (response waiting time), increased speed, and optimization for over 50 languages.

In the coming weeks, ChatGPT-4o will incorporate a voice assistant, allowing users to have real-time, natural conversations with the AI tool, including the option for real-time video conferencing. Plus users will have priority access to this feature, which will later be available to all users.

Initial access to ChatGPT-4o is being offered to ChatGPT Plus and Team users. Enterprise users will gain access soon after. OpenAI has also begun offering limited access to ChatGPT Free users.

A spectacular virtual tour of the Tower of London and its history

Google Arts & Culture, in partnership with Historic Royal Palace, offers an amazing virtual tour around Tower of London, led by renowned historian and author Tracy Borman, deputy chief curator of Historic Royal Palaces.

As she herself explains, “the story of the Tower of London is, in many respects, the story of England. Throughout its almost 1,000-year history, this world-famous monument has not just witnessed but played a pivotal role in some of the most seismic events in the country’s history. From the Norman Conquest to the Great Fire of London, this indomitable fortress has remained a grand, often terrifying, symbol of royal power.”

The web allows you to visit this emblematic place — even some of the places that visitors don’t get to see, such as the King’s House, where the Gunpowder Plotters were interrogated in 1605 — and dive into its history through digital storytelling, virtual tours and beautiful art in high-resolution imagery.

Walk in the footsteps of kings, queens, and infamous prisoners with Historic Royal Palaces and Google Arts & Culture.
