The best advertising in the World: Cannes Lions 2024 Award-Winning Ads
Last week saw the latest edition of the Cannes Lions 2024 international festival, the main annual event for the advertising industry, which has now reached its 70th edition.
During the festival, held on the French Riviera, the Lions Awards were announced, recognizing the best ads of the year in various categories.
Advertising trade publications The Drum and Creative Review have compiled the ads that won a Grand Prix, the festival's highest award, this year.
Among them are the viral video about the French women's soccer team by Orange, which won in the “Entertainment Lions for Sport” category, and Coca-Cola’s recycling campaign, which won the Grand Prix in “Print & Publishing.”

The First Biden-Trump Presidential Debate, Live on CNN (Thursday, June 27)
This Thursday, June 27, at 9 PM Eastern Time, the first debate between the two candidates for the upcoming November 5 presidential election will take place: current President and Democratic candidate Joe Biden and former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump.
The debate will be held at CNN's headquarters in Atlanta and will be broadcast on its main channel, CNN, as well as CNN International, CNN en Español, CNN Max, and through its website CNN.com. The debate will also feature a simultaneous Spanish translation broadcast.
The debate will last 90 minutes, with two commercial breaks, and will not have a live audience. It will be moderated by CNN anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.
Some new rules have been agreed upon for the debate. For example, candidates will have their microphones muted when it is not their turn to speak, they will not be allowed to use written notes or other accessories during the debate, and they will only be allowed to have a pen and a notepad for making notes, as well as a bottle of water.
The second debate between Biden and Trump is scheduled for September 10, 2024, and will be broadcast by ABC News.

Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day, June 27
Each year on June 27, the United Nations celebrates the International Day of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with a clear objective: to harness the power and resilience of MSMEs to accelerate sustainable development and eradicate poverty during times of multiple crises.
With just six years remaining until the 2030 deadline to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the UN warns that progress is insufficient.
Several statistics highlight the importance of MSMEs to the global economy:
By 2030, 600 million jobs will be needed to absorb the growing global workforce, making the development of MSMEs a high priority for many governments worldwide.
In emerging markets, MSMEs generate the majority of formal employment (7 out of 10 jobs).
One of the services offered by the United Nations is an online academy for MSMEs, which provides users worldwide with a variety of free courses in different languages to help these businesses grow. This is the SME Trade Academy, the online learning platform of the International Trade Centre, a joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization.
There are over a hundred online courses available throughout the year.
