The conference runs through this Friday, June 14, starting at 1pm EST (Eastern Standard Time) with the always anticipated Keynote. During this presentation, Apple will provide a preview of "the groundbreaking new features coming to Apple platforms throughout the year," according to the company.

Following the Keynote, at 22:00 CET, the Platforms State of the Union session will take place, offering "an in-depth look at the latest advancements in iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS, as well as new tools that will further empower Apple developers."

Throughout the week, "Apple engineers, designers, and other experts will engage with developers in over 100 technical sessions, one-on-one consultations, and live forums, providing guidance for creating innovative and diverse apps and games for every platform on all Apple products."

How Google Alerts Work

A great practical tool for managing information

Google Alerts offer a very practical, effective, and free way to stay updated on the latest news related to the topics, entities, or people that interest us the most.

This service allows you to receive email alerts whenever something is published related to the topic you have set up.

Alerts are a great help in efficiently managing the information that interests us, both for our professional and personal activities.

How does it work?

  1. Go to google.com/alerts

  2. Enter the search term or terms that interest you

  3. Set the frequency with which you want to receive the alerts

  4. Choose the type of sources you want Google to consult (you can leave the default Automatic option)

  5. Define your preferred language, region of the world, and the number of results you want to receive

  6. Enter your email (you can also use an RSS feed)

  7. Create the alert

Before creating it, you can see a preview with the results you would receive.

You can create as many alerts as you want and edit or delete them at any time.

Project Gutenberg: over 70,000 free ebooks

Project Gutenberg’s cover

Project Gutenberg is an online library with over 70,000 free ebooks available for download in multiple formats, including epub, Kindle, and PDF, among others.

It is the oldest digital library, launched in 1971 by Michael Hart, who created the first ebook that year. The book he chose was the United States Declaration of Independence.

Project Gutenberg was the first provider of free electronic books, or eBooks. Michael Hart, founder of Project Gutenberg, invented eBooks in 1971 and his memory continues to inspire the creation of eBooks and related content today.

Most of the books available are classic works that are already in the public domain and therefore free of copyright. The project has contributions from thousands of volunteers.

In addition to a search engine and books organized by category, Project Gutenberg offers a permanently updated ranking of the most downloaded ebooks for the last day, week, or month.

For instance, as of this writing (June 2024), Jane Austen's novel “Romeo and Juliet” tops the list:
